Nowadays, there are a lot of opportunities to receive the online degree. In the past the only one accessible way to get the education was to spend several years in the university campus studying. Fortunately, today those people, who are busy with job, household and care after children or other responsibilities, also have the possibility to receive the degree with the help of online educational institutions.
An online education became more accessible because of the development of the Internet technologies, which now allow sending all the books, lectures, materials, tasks and tests via e-mail. The student study at home and send to the university the fulfilled tests and tasks. In such way the feedback between the teachers and the students is provided.
When the future student chooses the appropriate online degree program, they have to pay attention on the accreditation of the online universities. The most of the universities and colleges get their accreditation from the Distance Education Training Council (DETC). But this accreditation is not enough in some cases. Some of the student, which received the online degree have a desire to continue the studying in the traditional way and want to receive the higher degree. But some of them collide with the problem of transferring of the credits from the online university to the ordinary university. The credits will be transferred if the online university is accredited also by the regional authorities. The reason of it is that the local schools want to be sure that the credits of online university are the same as the local credits.
There are a lot of advantages of the online education. The main are the opportunity to study and to work at the same time without any restrictions, the accessibility of the online educational programs and the possibility of the students to arrange the convenient schedule.
